What Is the Pennsylvania Warrior Dash?

The Warrior Dash is an obstacle course race and festival that takes place in many different locations throughout the U.S., including Pennsylvania! Since 2009, this is the get-dirty race anyone can start and everyone can finish! 2019 marks the tenth anniversary of this thrilling race, so you can bet this year will be extra-spectacular.

The Warrior Dash comes to Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania this year on Saturday, September 28. Whether you’re participating or just want to watch, it’s sure to be a blast!

While spectators are not allowed on the course, they are allowed to view select obstacles from the festival area. This year, the obstacles for the Warrior Dash are all new! From Muddy Mayhem to the Warrior Roast, from the tallest obstacle ever (El Capitan) to the first-ever zip line obstacle (Super Fly), you won’t be disappointed.

How Does the Warrior Dash Work?

If you’re participating, you have to make it through the diverse obstacle course and make it through to the festival at the end, where the post-race party will take place.

For the Warrior Dash in Pennsylvania, you’ll have the option of running a 5K or 10K obstacle course. Registration includes a medal, fuzzy helmet, shirt, all-day festival access, event photos, and a free beer! If you run the 10K course, you’ll also get a commemorative pin and an extra free beer.

You can participate on your own or as part of a team. You just have to be at least 10 years of age to run the course! Want to run for free? Consider volunteering!

What to Bring

While there will be stations where you can clean up afterward, you’ll still need to bring your own change of clothes! You’ll also need to bring your picture ID, credit card, signed waiver, and a backpack to hold everything (don’t worry, there will be a secure place for you to store it during the race).

The Festival

As the Warrior Dash is for everyone, so too are the festival activities! You’ll find fun contests and games, tasty eats, a beer garden, and even a kids fun zone if you brought the little ones with you. Live music will enhance the mood, and you’ll have the option of purchasing souvenirs from vendors.
