1. Longwood Gardens
Longwood Gardens is a two-hour drive from Mountaintop Lodge. This botanical garden is filled with beautiful blooms all–year-round! Take a gander around the gardens, then head over to the on-site Beer Garden! Here, you can enjoy a limited selection of craft beer, wine, barbeque sandwiches, and pizzas!
Longwood Gardens also features fantastic seasonal events, like the “A Longwood Christmas” lights display! Overall, it’s one of the best day trips for families near the Poconos.
2. Delaware Water Gap
Natural beauty is all around in the Poconos. The Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania is one of the most fantastic outdoor attractions in our area. This recreation area straddles the Delaware River on the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Here, you can hike the Appalachian Trail, go rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and more. Best of all, it’s just a 25-minute drive from Mountaintop Lodge!
3. Ricketts Glen State Park
Pennsylvania is home to 121 state parks. No trip to the Poconos would be complete without visiting a couple of Poconos state parks. If you’re looking to venture a little further out, we suggest a visit to Ricketts Glen State Park in Benton, PA. Here, you can explore an amazing waterfall hike!
