One of our favorite trails and sites to hike is the Dingmans Falls Trail in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. While it is an easy trail, the waterfall is beautiful and it offers great views for birding, hiking, and other wildlife.

What is Dingmans Falls Creek Trail?

Dingmans Falls Trail is one of the most beautiful and popular trails in Pennsylvania. Located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, this 1.4-mile out-and-back trail is a great way to experience nature and get some exercise. The trail is mostly boardwalk, with views of Dingmans Falls from below, and it ends with a climb up several levels of stairs to the top of the falls.

What Can You See at Dingmans Falls Creek Trail?

The scenery along the trail is breathtaking, with a canopy of hemlock and hardwood trees, rhododendron shrubs, and tall hemlock trees. The end of the trail offers spectacular views of Dingmans Falls, which gracefully drops 80 feet through a narrow chute. Visitors can also explore Silverthread Falls, located just past Dingmans Falls on the same trail.

Things to Do at Dingmans Falls

In addition to taking in the sights along the trail, visitors can also enjoy other activities at Dingmans Falls Trail. There are picnic tables near the visitor center for those who want to take a break and have lunch or snacks during their hike. The visitor center also has educational displays about local wildlife and plants that can be found along the trail.

Fishing is another popular activity at Dingmans’ Creek but be sure to follow local regulations. “No fishing is permitted in Dingmans Creek from 100 feet upstream of the top observation platform to the road-side end of the parking lot.” For those looking for an even more adventurous experience, there are guided kayaking tours available on weekends from May through October that will take you downriver from Dingman’s Ferry to Milford Beach State Park.
