Outdoor Activities & Attractions at Beltzville State Park

1. Swimming

There’s nothing more refreshing in the summer than a dip in the lake. If you’re looking to cool off this summer in the Poconos, visit the swimming area at this Pennsylvania state park! Park visitors can enjoy more than 500-feet of sandy shoreline along Beltzville Lake. This swimming beach is open during the summer months, Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. During this time, there’s even a concession stand with snacks and referments available for purchase.

Please keep in mind that there’s no lifeguard on duty, so swim at your own risk!

2. Fishing

You can find some of the best fishing in the Poconos at Beltzville State Park. The park’s 949-acre lake is fed via the Pohopoco Creek, which is great for trout fishing! Visitors can fish at this lake year-round, as it offers ice fishing opportunities. The park office advises anglers to practice extreme caution on the ice!

3. Boating

Boating is another great way to spend a day on the water. Locals can bring personal boats onto the lake with the appropriate registration, while visitors are welcome to take advantage of nearby boat rentals! Here, you can rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and pontoon boats. If you’re interested in a pontoon rental, please call in advance to ensure that there’s a boat ready for your group!

4. Picnicking

Planning a whole day visit to this Pennsylvania state park? Be sure to pack a brown bag lunch! This state park has four picnic pavilions to choose from. These picnic areas are equipped with restrooms, water, parking areas, and more!

Stay at Mountaintop Lodge

Beltzville State Park is about a 40-minute drive from Mountaintop Lodge. It’s easy to spend the day at the park, then head back to your cozy accommodation at the Lodge. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day on the water!

Consider a stay in the Poconos Room. This second-level Lodge room boasts a queen-size bed, “dressing area”, a private bathroom, and east-facing windows that overlook our backyard. It’s one of our favorite rooms on-site and we think you will love it, too!
